Clarence Road/Chatterton Street - Local Safety Scheme

Consultation Overview

In the past five years there have been seven turning accidents at this junction involving personal injury to drivers and vehicle passengers. It is believed that the two-lane approach to Bath Road Bridge is hampering visibility of vehicles turning into and out of Chatterton Street.

The introduction of a pedestrian refuge island is intended to reduce the approach lanes from two to one until just past the junction, and also assist pedestrian movements in the area.

Why We Are Consulting

We are seeking comments and suggestions from the public and local businesses to ensure that any amendments (where feasible) are incorporated into the scheme design prior to implementation.

What Happens Next

Any comments, observations or objections will be considered and incorporated into the final design (if appropriate) prior to implementation on site.

Results

There was no feedback from the consultation therefore the proposed work will be carried out.
