Greater Bristol Bus Network (GBBN) - A432 Stapleton Road/Fishponds Road

Consultation Overview

Bristol City Council is working with Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Councils to improve public transport.
With £42 million support from the government, the four councils in the West of England Partnership, First, and developers are investing £70 million in a reliable, more comfortable showcase experience for the 52 million + bus journeys made in the sub-region each year.
There are 10 GBBN corridors due for completion by 2012, eight of which impact on the city of Bristol to greater or lesser extents.  See the GBBN routes map (PDF 128KB).

Why We Are Consulting

Bristol City Council is proposing a number of improvements to the A432 Stapleton Road/Fishponds Road as part of GBBN.  The proposals are designed to enhance:
• public transport
• cycling and walking provision
• facilities for all road users, and
• the appearance of the street through environmental improvements
We are asking residents and businesses to take part from in an informal consultation which runs from Saturday 27 February  to Friday 9 April 2010.
