Hurlingham Road, Ashley - Proposed Traffic Management Measurements

Consultation Overview

To reduce the number of motorists using these roads, it is proposed to implement a series of road closures in the area with a prohibition of motor vehicles restriction. To further reinforce these measures a one-way restriction is also proposed on Balmoral Road. Waiting restrictions are also proposed to provide junction protection, HGV access and to keep the proposed road closures areas clear of parked cars to ensure cycle and pedestrian access is maintained.

Why We Are Consulting

To seek local residents comments on the proposed traffic calming measures, and to ensure that they meet the requirements of the local community.

What Happens Next

Where possible, amendments to the draft proposals will be made in response to the comments submitted. An amended scheme will then be publicly advertised as part of the statutory process associated with the proposed restrictions on vehicle movement and the parking restrictions.

Results

In total we received 56 responses of which 51 were in favour and 5 against. Some of those who said they were in favour also requested amendments to be made to the proposals. These are outlined in the results file and will be considered during the next stage of the design process.
