We are consulting to improve access and egress for residents and visitors of Bristol South End. Residents will recieve a Consultation leaflet which includes a response form and a freepost address.
We wish to gauge community support for the proposed parking restrictions.
The results will be used to gauge support for the proposal within the local community. Subject to the outcome of the consultation the next step will be to undertake detailed design, develop alternative measures or abandon it.
Following the informal consultation with the residents of Bristol South End, we have now completed the analysis of the responses, and used this information to develop a revised parking restriction scheme, which retains some parking at the southern end and adjacent to the rugby clubhouse. We have received a total of 18 responses out of 138 properties (13%) and out of the 18 responses 11 were in favour of the proposal and 7 were against the proposal. The next stage of this process will be the statutory public advertisement of the proposals, where comments and objections are formally invited. Unfortunately, this is unlikely to commence before the local elections in May 2010.We have responded by letter to the residents who commented on the proposal.
