We Asked, You Said, We Did

Below are some of the issues we have recently consulted on and their outcomes.

  • Green Electricity For Bristol BCC Avonmouth Wind Turbine Project

We Asked:  We asked for your opinion on whether the council should build two turbines in Avonmouth to provide green electricity.
You Said:  A clear majority of people were in favour of this project.
We Did:  In January 2009, the council granted planning permission for the turbines. Find out more at www.bristol.gov.uk/wind
  • Voluntary and Community Sector Infrastructure Support Needs Survey

We Asked:  BCC asked Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) groups about their support needs and how that support can best be delivered.
You Said:  219 groups completed the Needs Assessment Survey & 79 groups attended Assessment meetings. See the results: www.bristol.gov.uk/vcssupport
We Did:  Go to www.bristol.gov.uk/vcssupport to comment on the proposed model for VCS Infrastructure support - the 'Bristol VCS Support Service'.
  • 20mph Speed Limit Pilot in Inner East and Inner South Bristol

We Asked:  We asked which roads should be included in 20mph limit within proposal areas in Inner East and Inner South Bristol.
You Said:  Of 310 responses only four objected. Most comments said not enough roads were included in our original proposals.
We Did:  In revised plans almost all streets in proposal areas are included in 20mph except main arterial routes.
