Allerdale Borough Council savings consultation 2011
Overview
As you will be aware the Government has announced significant cuts in funding for local authorities. In common with most councils, Allerdale is faced with a massive challenge in the next three years in trying to balance its budget. The Council needs to reduce its budget by over £3.5m in the next three years.
Why We Are Consulting
In order to do this the Council has identified several areas where savings can be made, these include: reduction in management and administration costs; reducing our building costs and working more efficiently; looking to reduce the costs of our contracts and creating more income. Our aim is to protect front line services as far as possible however some impact on front line services is inevitable. The Council is currently considering a number of savings options and we would like your views on how these may affect you.
