Planning Carlisle's Future Consultation Jan - Mar 2011

Overview

Key Issues Consultation

Key Issues paper

January – March 2011

Between now and 31 March 2011, we would like to hear your views about how land in Carlisle’s urban and rural areas could be developed over the next 20 years.

Your views will be included in a document called the Core Strategy. This will be part of the Local Development Framework for Carlisle which will replace the current Local Plan.

Key issues

There are three headings which gather together all the key issues which we feel are important for the future growth and development of Carlisle.

These are:

  • Social. Housing, support services in rural areas, health and services for older and young people
  • Economic. Creating jobs, education, new technology, leisure, retail and tourism
  • Environmental. Transport, pollution, green spaces, conservation and flood risk

Why we are consulting

What are your views?

We have said what we think the key issues are in the Key Issues Paper but you may have others which you think we may have missed.

This is your chance to tell us what you think are the key issues for where you live and, also, for the City and the wider district.

We also want to find out what you like about Carlisle and how Carlisle could be improved.

The Key Issues Paper is also available to view at the Civic Centre and your local library and/or community centre.
