Consultation on Proposals to Close Ravensfield Residential Care Home in Keswick
Overview
This consultation seeks views from residents, staff, family members and the wider community on a proposal to close Ravensfield care home. They will be using a mixture of methods as required, e.g. focus groups, individual interviews etc. They will be assisted with this by Advocacy Experience. Members of the Cumbria Care Modernisation Team will also be facilitating a public meeting and drop in sessions throughout the consultation.
Why we are consulting
There are ongoing flood risks to residents of the home. Additionally, the closure of the home responds to the aims set out within the Older Peoples Commissioning Strategy by supporting more people at home.
A formal three month consultation process is to be conducted with staff, residents, family members and the public to ascertain their views on proposals to close Ravensfield.
What happens next
The consultation will start on 28th June 2010 and finish on 28th September 2010. We will then obtain the report from Shaping Our Lives on the feedback from the consultation process. Council officers will consider this information and make a submission to cabinet along with recommendations. It is likely that the cabinet report will be submitted during October / November 2010.
