Results
We received 15 responses to this consultation with 3 specific points - summarised as follows:
1) Apply sensible use of resources to ensure SLDC is covered legally.
2) Define fairness in relation to the delivery of services in the scheme
3) Replace "promoting good relations" with "fostering good relations" & add text to show SLDC will train staff in the equality duty and equality considerations are considered before decisions are made. Ensure contractors are covered by our equality obligations.
The Equality Scheme has been reviewed in the light of these comments and the draft version is on the council's website.
The Equality Scheme will be considered by Cabinet on the 11 April 2012 and the final version will be available in hard copy and on the website once formally approved.
