2012 Annual Review of Constitution
Overview
South Lakeland District Council has a constitution which sets out how the council operates, how decisions are made and the procedures which are followed to ensure that these are efficient, transparent and accountable to local people. Some of these processes are required by the law, while others are a matter for the council to choose.
Each year the Councils Monitoring Officer has the responsibility to monitor and review the operation of the Council's Constitution to ensure that the aims and principles of the Constitution are given full effect.
