Eden District Council

LSP Community Strategy Refresh 2011-2014

Consultation Overview

I am writing to seek your organisation's views about the draft Sustainable Community Strategy (SCS) and Action Plan for Eden, see attached. Eden Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) was established in November 2005 and is committed to adding value to the delivery of services through the production of an over arching strategy for the area. Our current SCS covering the period 2007-2010 has been completed and a new strategy and three year action plan is being developed which focuses delivery towards the three LSP priorities:

  • Develop a healthy environment
  • Develop a vibrant economy
  • Develop a strong society

In November 2009, action planning workshops were held with the wider LSP membership during the LSP's Community Conference. The findings from these workshops, alongside community and organisational plans, have substantially shaped the current draft of the SCS Action Plan (2011 - 2014). We need your comments to ensure that the Action Plan reflects local views and is agreed, owned and implemented by communities and organisations in Eden. You will note that some of the information for the lead, baseline, measure and target sections of the Action Plan are yet to be confirmed. After the consultation period has ended, the Plan will then be Sustainability Appraised and Equality & Diversity Assessed. At the LSP AGM on the 10th of May we will inform you of how received comments have shaped any changes to the Action Plan and ask the wider LSP membership to endorse this new SCS and first three year Action Plan. If you would like to discuss this, please do not hesitate to contact the Policy & Partnership Officer on 01768 212171. Thank you for your help. Yours faithfully Roger Roberts Chairman, Eden Local Strategic Partnership PLEASE read the attached 'Draft Eden Sustainable Community Strategy 2011-2023', BEFORE you complete this on line consultation.
