Developing Local Healthwatch

Overview

Healthwatch Rotherham will replace the current model of Local Improvement Networks (LiNks) and will be in place from April 2013.

As set out in the Health and Social Care Act 2012, your new local Healthwatch will provide information, advice and support to help you find out about and how to access health and social care services, as well as gather your views and experiences to improve them for Rotherham people. There will also be a requirement to provide a NHS complaints advocacy service from April 2013.

A local healthwatch representative will sit on the Health and Wellbeing Board once established to represent the collective voice of local people.

Why We Are Consulting

To determine how your local healthwatch will work, we are seeking the views of people who have experience of using health and social care services in Rotherham.

What Happens Next

Rotherham Council is leading on and hosting this consultation, and working in partnership with NHS Rotherham and The Rotherham Hospital Trust.

All comments are important to us and will be used to inform the development of Healthwatch Rotherham which will be in place from April 2013.
