Young People Friendly Services

Overview

Consultation in the form of an electronic survey was undertaken to assess how 'young people friendly ' young people felt services to be

Why We Are Consulting

Its important that all parts of our community feel that health services are appropriate to them and meet their needs.

We are aware that young people often don't access health services, so we asked young people using one particular GP surgery  what they knew about the surgery, services that were available, and what they thought of the  environment, staff attitudes, among other issues.

What Happens Next

The survey results have been discussed at the youth service'ucount2' meeeting.

The practice is currently working towards achieving the 'Your'e Welcome' accreditation.  Results from the survey will be used as evidence to show how plans are involving young people, and to highlight any changes that will be made to meet these criteria, as a result of what young people have said.

Results

The complete results of the survey are attached.

It was clear from the results that those young people using the service were happy with the service they were receiving, with a clear majority finding the environment comfortable, and majorities reporting easy access to information.

There were also areas that information could be improved; it was also interesting to note that the preferred methods of receiving information was through leaflets and posters, rather than through social media channels, as may have been predicted.
