Joint Commissioning Strategies on Older People and Older People's Mental Health
The London Borough of Sutton and Sutton and Merton Primary Care Trust are working together to develop a Joint Commissioning Strategy focused on the Health and Wellbeing of Older People and as a subset of this main strategy the Mental Health Needs of Older People in Sutton. The strategies make use of information about the older population in Sutton, their health and their use of health and social care services. It has also been informed by consultations with older people. This information is included in a Joint Strategic Needs Assessment which will be available on this website shortly. We are consulting on two linked strategies: Draft Joint Commissioning Strategy Older People Draft Joint Commissioning Strategy for Older Peoples Mental Health.
Why We Are Consulting
We want to take into account of the views of as many people as possible with an interest in the health and wellbeing of older people and older peoples mental health. Both strategies are still in draft form and your comments will shape the final versions.
We consulted on two strategies - one for older people and one for older people's mental health. We heard from people at public meetings, recieved comments from organisations we work with and recieved letters and emails. The comments were very positive and have helped us develop the final strategy called - A New Approach to the Health and Well Being of Older People. The detailed responses to the issues raised are in the document below. You can also download the equality impact assessment and the final version of the strategy.
