Draft Sutton Transport Plan 2011/12-2013/14
Overview
The council is currently consulting on its draft Sutton Transport Plan, which forms the Local Implementation Plan (LIP), a statutory document required under the Greater London Authority (GLA) Act 1999. As required by the GLA Act, the Plan sets out how the council proposes to implement the second Mayor's Transport Strategy (MTS), the Mayor of London's transport blueprint for London which was published in May 2010. The draft Plan covers the period 2011/12-2013/2014 and contains transport proposals that address locally important issues and contribute to the Mayor's transport goals, challenges and outcomes. The Plan also sets out the council's wider and longer term vision and proposals for improving transport in the borough.
Why We Are Consulting
The LIP outlines Sutton's transport objectives and details a timetable for delivering these through a range of transport schemes and interventions. We would like to hear your views on our objectives and proposals and any suggestions you might have for schemes. The final document, once submitted to Transport for London (TfL), will secure funding to implement the Delivery Plan of transport schemes and interventions. The document also contains a longer list of unfunded schemes for which funding will be sought from other sources including planning obligations from developers.
What Happens Next
The consultation period runs until Sunday 7th November 2010. Once the consultation period has closed the responses will be considered and changes will be made to the Plan as necessary. The revised Plan will then be submitted to TfL on 20th December and will come into force on 1 April 2011.

Results
The consultation results in the attached document highlight residents' views on the priorities for transport in Sutton.
Road maintenance, walking route improvements, traffic, congestion and parking were all issues raised by residents.
Residents also highlighted a desire for the Tramlink to extend to Sutton and highlighted bus routes they wouldl ike to see extended.
