This consultation addresses proposed changes to older people's day services in the borough. It focuses on the four day centres for older people with high and complex needs, who meet the Councils eligibility criteria. These are Cloverdale Court, Gaynesford Lodge, Cheam Priory and Belsize Court.

Independent Living Strategy

Everyone needs help or equipment of some kind, but many people with physical and/or sensory impairments or other disabilities have additional needs for assistance, some of which are a result of disabling barriers. Independent living is about having choice and control over the help or equipment needed to go about our daily lives.

Multi-agency Prevention Strategy

This draft of our Multi-agency Prevention Strategy for 2010 to 2012 aims to explain what is meant by prevention and early intervention; why we are taking this approach; what we are doing now and what we plan to do. Prevention, early intervention and enablement help support people to remain in their homes for as long as possible, which avoids or reduces the use of costly institutional or long term care. Over the past decade, we have been making a strategic shift towards prevention.
